Arch Street’s Annual Appeal 2024-2025

Dear Friends of Arch Street,

Welcome to an exciting and challenging year at Arch Street!

Realizing our world has seen a dramatic shift in interpersonal interaction since Covid-19 as well as the ever-challenging world of social media engagement, I am writing to ask for your support to help ensure that the teen center can continue its legacy as the longest-running, privately funded, not-for-profit teen center in the country.

Like so many youth organizations across the country, Arch Street faces challenges, but I’ve personally witnessed the passion and dedication this community has for its teens.

Currently, Arch Street offers a diverse range of programs to Greenwich teens. Many love the social events, while other appreciate the opportunity to serve alongside their peers or are drawn to the recording studio where they can focus on pursuing a creative outlet. Your contribution is vital to keeping our doors open by covering the gap between our program revenues and the actual costs of our operations. With your support, Arch Street will be able to offer the following programs and continue to serve thousands of teens on an annual basis.

Community Service: Arch Street is committed to community service and we are proud that we have been recognized by Neighbor to Neighbor as a Student Organization of the Year! Other service organizations have included Greenwich Youth Services, Greenwich moms, Kids in Crisis, Lighthouse LifeBridge Community Services, and The Emily Fedorko Foundation.

Audio and Visual Arts: Arch Street offers teens the opportunity to explore the arts, including our very own recording studio known as Andrew’s Studio. We are also ecstatic to announce our new 2024-2025 podcasting station in which teens can produce and host their very own podcast.

Middle School Socials: Arch Street provides age-appropriate opportunities for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to father and socialize in a supervised environment. This past school year, these popular events ranges from DJ dances to mini-golf and bounce-house parties.

High School Dances: The High School dances at Arch Street are organized by and for teens. These events often offer students a unique opportunity to raise funds for causes that are important o them, including Save the Children and the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.

As you consider making a donation, it is important to know that only a very small percentage of our revenue is received from our program fees. To encourage access and participation throughout the diverse teen community in Greenwich, we purposely price event tickets at an affordable level, resulting in our program offerings being significantly subsidized. Also, the teen center is housed in a cool, historic building that we lease from the Town of Greenwich and we are responsible for the upkeep of this space with its unique vibe that suits this demographic. From day one, we have been completely privately funded through grands and donations; we are not included in the town’s operating budget. We count on individuals from the community to help us cover the revenue gap and meet our operating expenses.

Please be as generous as you can to help Arch Street continue to serve our amazing teens.

With warm regards,

Kyle Silver (Executive Director)
